German is part of the West Germanic language family, with over 120 million native speakers. This language is used as an official language in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Lichtenstein. As a foreign language it is spoken by millions of native Germans from France, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg, Poland, Russia and even Romania. Due to its size, it is part of the 3 official languages of the European Union apparatus.

German language courses for adults are organized at our quarters of the Language Centre or at the headquarters of your company according to the recommendations of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which divides language acquisition into the following categories:

Basic language use:

Level A1

Students graduating this level can understand and use familiar and everyday expressions, as well as very simple statements aimed at meeting concrete needs. They can introduce themselves or introduce someone, ask and answer questions about details about people, such as: where they live, what other people they know, what things belong to them, etc. They can also communicate, in a simple way, if the interlocutor speaks rarely and clearly and is cooperative.

Level A2

These learners can understand isolated phrases and expressions commonly used in areas of direct interest (for example, information about the person and family, shopping, the area where they live, professional activity). According to the test, these people can communicate in simple and ordinary situations, which involve a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and common topics. Consequently, they can describe, by simple means, his professional training, his close environment and can express topics that correspond to his immediate needs.

Independent use of language

Level B1

The students from our centre who complete a B1 level course can understand the essential elements when using a clear standard language on familiar topics related to work, school, leisure, etc. They can cope with most situations during a trip to a German-speaking region. In these contexts, they can express themselves simply, coherently on familiar topics and from their own fields of interest. In addition, they can narrate an event or experience, describe a dream, a hope, or a goal, and briefly present arguments or explanations about a plan or opinion.

Level B2

After completing a B2 level German language course, students will be able to understand the main ideas from complex texts on concrete or abstract topics; they will also be able to understand specialized discussions in their own field of activity. They can also communicate with a certain degree of spontaneity and fluency, so that the conversation with a native does not require effort for any of the interlocutors. They can also express themselves clearly and in detail on a wide range of topics and can express their opinion on a topical issue, presenting the advantages and disadvantages of different possibilities.

Experienced use of language

Level C1

A C1 level diploma is awarded to students, following an authorized international test, if they can understand a wide range of long and complicated texts and comprehend the implicit meanings. In oral expression they are spontaneous and fluent, without searching for their words. Consequently, they use their language efficiently and flexibly both in social or professional life and in school or academia. These people can express themselves on complex topics in a clear, structured and comprehensive way, using different means of organizing, structuring and interconnecting of the discourse.

Level C2

This level is often considered close to the native level of knowledge of the German language. People with this level can understand practically without effort, everything they read or hear. They can reconstruct certain facts from written or oral sources, summarizing them consistently with appropriate arguments and explanations. In oral expression they are spontaneous, very fluent and express themselves accurately, appealing to fine distinctions of meaning related to complex topics.
